The Kuman L298N Motor Drive Controller Board is a nice little board. I recently started learning about stepper motors and how they can make really precise movements. Also they have a lot of torque. And torque is a good thing! So anyway I learned that in order to use a stepper motor I needed a driver. So I started doing some more research and happened upon a driver that looked very similar to this one, so I bought it. That driver worked out just fine for what I was trying to do, but it was a bit more expensive than this one. The other driver also had quite a few positive reviews, which is why I went with that one. Then I realized that one driver isn't enough for all the projects that I want to do, so I thought that I would give this one a try especially since I got it for an even cheaper price than what it already was for my honest review. Well I have to say that I'm glad I did because it's just as good as the more expensive one. I wired it up to my Arduino board and tested it with three different size stepper motors and it worked awesome! So if your looking for a nice driver at a good price, look no further. I attached a video of one of the stepper motors running on this driver.

I purchased this motor controller to replace another L298N board that I had mounted on an uneven surface and cracked it in half. The Kuman board is very nicely assembled and works well. While I am using this control board with an Arduino, it can be used with RC remotes, flight controllers etc. I plan on using one of these on a quadcopter as a low cost alternative to 4 individual motor controllers. I also appreciate the fact that a dedicated 5v power source is not needed with the onboard voltage regulator.

The finish quality of the board is good, all connections are securely soldered and all excess leads are trimmed to an appropriate length. While this controller does not come with good instructions there are plenty of good resources online with a quick Google or Yahoo search. I did get this controller at a discounted price in exchange for a fair and honest review, and I will attest that it is a solid controller board that is well worth the money. My review on this board was not influenced by the discounted price and I stand behind my opinion.
